2月18日日曜日にサンフランシスコをスタートするTour of California[*1]。そのスタートにあわせた粋な企画がある。18日夕方、サンフランシスコにて「1989年のTour de Franceをグレッグ・レモンと解説でお馴染のフィル・リゲット氏と一緒に観戦しよう」というもの。参加費は$20。英語の案内メールを添付しておく。チケット売上はBreakaway from Cancerという癌と闘う人達への基金に寄付されるそうだ。

At last year’s Tour de Georgia I had the amazing opportunity to watch the 1986 Tour de France dvd with Greg LeMond. I knew the race well from watching it at home so many times, but this night we had the chance to pause the dvd and ask Greg for comments and stories about what was really going on at his breakthrough Tour. A better way to watch a big time race does not exist – and now the chance has come around again.
As part of the launch of the new LeMond Tete de Course full-carbon race bikes for 2007, Greg will be live and in person with Phil Liggett, hosting and narrating a presentation of his amazing 1989 Tour de France victory over Laurent Fignon. The venue has been expanded and moved to San Francisco, so grab your tix early because this will sell out.
