• 英国の自動車企業ジャガーが、政府に10億ポンドの融資を交渉しているらしい。
• 弱まった企業に追い貸しすることほど愚かな政策はない。*1

株反発？

• Marc Faberが「強力な反発相場が来るかも」と予測している。
• 尊敬する投資家の意見だけに気になるところ。
• ただし...政府介入が失敗に終わったら、「prepare for an unprecedented depression(前例のない不況に備えよ)」とのこと。

The traditional story is that President Franklin D. Roosevelt rescued capitalism by resorting to extensive government intervention; the truth is that Roosevelt changed course from year to year, trying a mix of policies, some good and some bad. It’s worth sorting through this grab bag now, to evaluate whether any of these policies might be helpful.

• 歴史の授業では「ルーズベルト大統領がニューディール政策を実行して、大恐慌は終わった」みたいに習った。
• が、これは嘘。
• むしろニューディール政策は恐慌を長期化・深刻化させただけ。

• 歴史に習うのであれば、今度の大恐慌の震源地はアメリカではなく中国になる、という指摘。

70年代に戻るニューヨーク

• 税収減少、失業率増加、貧困、、、→犯罪増加
• ニューヨークは70年代並に戻るかも、という記事。
• こういうのってアメリカのメディアでは報道されないね。
