• COP15会場となるデンマークはコペンハーゲンのBella Centerからクリスマスツリーが撤去された。
• 同国のSvend Olling外相が指示した模様。

We have to remember that this is a UN conference and, as the centre then becomes UN territory, there can be no Christmas trees in the decor, because the UN wishes to maintain neutrality.

COP15は国連の会議であり、会場は国連の領土となる。国連は中立性を重視するので、(宗教が絡む)クリスマスツリーを置くことはできない。

→木を伐採すると二酸化炭素が増えるから、という理由ではないようで。

→二酸化炭素を固定化するのが良いことなのであれば、アメリカにたくさんいる超肥満な人達もコペンハーゲンに招待するべきだろう。彼らが抱えている炭素の量は半端なものではない。
