「Really, what the #$&% is Rock Racing doing?」というブログ記事によれば
a US Continental team must have at a maximum of 20 riders and that the majority of riders shall be aged under 28 years
US Continental Teamは最大20名までの選手を登録でき、過半数は28歳以下でなければならない。
という規定があるそうな。あぶれちゃった10名は「Team Rockというクラブチーム」で走る羽目になる。Continentalチーム所属でない以上、Rahsaan Bahatiは2009年のUS Critに出走できない。つまり、選手権防衛ができない。
Bahati選手は自身のブログで今の心情を吐き出している。
I feel happy that I had this opportunity to race as a pro with Rock Racing. I created some great memories and found great friends for life. Unfortunately Rock Racing doesn’t realize that you can’t swap guys in and out or move guys around all year long as it was explained to me. And even if you could, why should I be subjected to that? I won more races than anyone on the team this year, and I expected to be treated like one of the best.
I'll put it to you this way. This is how I feel. It’s like MB and his expensive clothing line. How would he feel if the fashion world did a review on some of the best designer jeans in the world and Rock and Republic fell under the category with Old Navy and Gap? When the whole world knows they are no Old Navy or Gap.
Well that’s how I feel.

追記 なんでこーなったの？
Rock RacingはContinental Proチームになろうとしたんだろうけど、予算の関係で格下のUS Continentalチームにしたら、人数制限にひっかかってしまった、ということらしい。
当然、Continental Proチーム目指して契約を交わした選手は怒る罠。
