Bloomberg: Alwaleed Says ‘Mature’ Banks Made Wrong Assumptions on Dubai

These banks are very mature banks, and they have to differentiate between a corporate loan and a sovereign loan.
これら(西側の)銀行はとても成熟しているはずで、民間への融資と政府系への融資の区別はついていて当然のはずです。

When things go sour, you can't have some banks in the West going to Dubai and saying ‘oops’ and crying wolf and saying, ‘You should have guaranteed those loans.'
状況が悪化したときに、そういった西側の銀行がドバイにやってきて、「大変だ」と騒ぎ出し、「これらの融資は(政府)保証のはずだ」と言い出す。そりゃないですよね。

• Citiが困ったときに手を差し伸べた人でもある。
• Citiへの投資は額面で88%飛んでいるそうだが、大富豪だから余裕。
• 結局、今回の件は政府による救済で幕引きなのかな？
• その場合、西側銀行はまたまた「借り」を作ることになる。
