procmailとmaildropの違い

外付けHDDの中にあるMaildirを$HOMEの下にsymlinkして、俺様IMAPサーバ復活！ と思ったらprocmailが文句をたれている。procmailのマニュアルによれば

If /var/spool/mail/$LOGNAME is a bogus mailbox (i.e., does not belong to the recipient, is unwritable, is a symbolic link or is a hard link), procmail will upon startup try to rename it into a file starting with `BOGUS.$LOGNAME.' and ending in an inode-sequence-code.

ということで、symlinkしたMaildirにメールを届けてくれない。

3秒悩んだ結果、maildropを使って解決。maildropはsymlinkした先にもメールを落としてくれる。知らんかった...
